SPCX tokenized SpaceX stock launches on Solana

SPCX, a tokenized version of SpaceX stock, has launched on Solana, giving crypto-native traders onchain exposure to one of the most anticipated equity listings of the year.

The tokenized SpaceX product arrived on Solana timed to coincide with SpaceX’s Nasdaq listing, according to a CoinDesk report. The launch was facilitated through xStocks, a platform focused on bringing traditional equities onchain.

Bitget Wallet partnered with xStocks to bring tokenized SpaceX IPO access to retail investors, broadening the distribution beyond traditional brokerage channels.

Why Solana is the venue for this launch

The decision to deploy SPCX on Solana rather than another chain reflects the network’s growing role as infrastructure for tokenized real-world assets. Solana’s low transaction fees and fast settlement make it a practical choice for products that need to mirror the trading experience of traditional equities.

Backpack Exchange, a Solana-native platform, has been building out its securities infrastructure to support exactly this type of product. The exchange introduced Backpack Securities as a regulated arm designed to handle tokenized stock offerings onchain.

The distinction matters for traders: SPCX is a tokenized representation of SpaceX equity, not the underlying stock itself. Holders gain price exposure through blockchain settlement rails, but the product’s structure, custody, and investor protections differ from holding shares through a traditional broker. Recent regulatory developments, including the SEC’s move to scrap Rule 611, could reshape how tokenized stocks interact with traditional market structure.

What traders will watch next

The immediate test for SPCX is liquidity. Tokenized equity products have historically struggled to attract deep order books, and thin markets can lead to price deviations from the underlying asset.

Exchange access will also determine reach. Whether SPCX appears on major Solana DEXs or remains limited to specific platforms like Bitget Wallet and Backpack will shape early adoption. Tools like embeddable price tracking charts could help surface the token to a broader audience.

If SPCX gains traction, it could signal a wave of similar tokenized equity launches on Solana. The combination of a high-profile underlying asset and an increasingly mature onchain securities infrastructure makes this launch a reference point for whether retail demand for tokenized stocks is real or speculative.

Regulatory clarity remains the largest unknown. Tokenized stock products operate in a gray area across most jurisdictions, and how regulators in the U.S. and elsewhere treat these instruments, particularly around crypto regulation frameworks, will determine whether the model scales beyond early adopters.
