Robinhood’s European Launch: 80 New Digital Assets
Robinhood has deployed 80 additional digital assets—mainly tokenized US stocks and ETFs—on the Arbitrum blockchain for its European users. Vlad Tenev, Robinhood’s CEO, expressed strong optimism in tokenization, describing it as a force that will eventually transform the financial system worldwide.
“Tokenization is like a freight train. It can’t be stopped, and eventually it’s going to eat the entire financial system,” said Vlad Tenev, adding, “most major markets will have some kind of framework within the next five years, but it could take over a decade to fully implement everywhere.”
The new assets include US-based stocks and ETFs like GLXY, BULL, and SNPS, further bolstering the nearly 500 tokenized offerings available to its European clientele.
EU Market Impact: $8.5 Million in Tokenized Assets
The expanded asset offerings have enhanced Robinhood’s market presence in the EU, attracting increased attention from regulators and investors. According to Dune Analytics, the total value of Robinhood’s tokenized assets has reached $8.5 million.
This growth demonstrates an active trading environment with $11.5 million in burning activity. The Bank of Lithuania has requested clarity on these assets, underscoring an evolving regulatory landscape.
Robinhood’s Pioneering Moves in Tokenization Since 2025
Robinhood initially launched a tokenization-focused Layer 2 blockchain on Arbitrum in 2025, setting a precedent in the industry. Similar ventures by Ondo Finance have emerged, but Robinhood stands out due to its broad market reach.
Experts note Robinhood’s strategy could reshape market dynamics over the coming years. The move is seen as part of a broader industry trend towards synthetic derivatives, impacting financial infrastructures significantly.
